Two applicants will be receive a scholarship to study journalism and the possibility of a full-time job at a weekly newspaper in the U.K. Specifically, winners take an all-expenses paid 20-week journalism course at Highbury College, in Portsmouth. If the candidate passes the course and a vacancy exists at the Advertiser they will be employed as a trainee reporter. The newspaper will then take over their training and assist them with their final professional National Council for the Training of Journalist exams.
